Ordinary Homework

Last night was too funny! My daughter and I were sitting at the computer desk, each doing homework. Quite interesting actually. She was doing US History and I was writing a paper on Job Satisfaction. Occassionally, we'd toss out a question to the other. Interesting.

We took the car in yesterday morning and the problem with the dash gauges ended up being a couple of wires under the seat. We even got the wiper issue fixed. And, got the car back on the same day. Very nice.

Stopped at a WW on my way home and weighed in. Down another 1.6 lbs! Woo hoo. I'm down a total of 18.4 lbs as of June 30. I'm very excited about that. Never would have thought I'd lose 18 lbs in 2 months. The next goal I've set is 13 lbs by October 31. I wanted to be down 30 lbs before I do the 5K on November 1. Heck, at this rate, it might be more!

Well, everyone reading this, have a great day!

Ordinary Findings

Well, I just looked at the number of credits taken and what's left to take, talking about college of course. I've just realized I actually only have 2 years of school left! Woo hoo!

That puts graduating September 2010. I wanted to finish before Jocie finishes high school but she'll beat me by a short 4 months. That's ok too!

Just had to celebrate for me!

Ordinary Weight Loss, Concerts, Car Problems, and School (oh my!)

Wow - it's been way too long since I last posted. Lots has been happening.

First things first, I'm now down 16.8 lbs and 8". I'm very excited and am hoping to be down 30 by November 1 when I do my first 5K. Wish me luck on this. Only 6.2 lbs more for 10% of my total body weight gone! And almost 1/2 way to Onederland! woo hoo!

I am wearing a smaller sized pair of jeans but I don't know the actual size as the tag has been cut out :)

I got to work this past weekend of TK's Light of Peace. Have almost the entire left side done. It was really nice to sit and cross stitch while watching the Olympics and not think about anything else. I'll get a picture to post soon!

Jocie has been to 2 different concerts since I last posted. First was in Austin, July 26th. Virgie took her and Irene. It was Jesse Lacey, Kevin Devine and another guy. She got to meet and speak with Kevin aka KDev. She was so excited. He told her he likes her glasses and they both sang one of Jesse's songs together while he was signing her stuff. She also got a picture taken with him.

The 2nd show was here in Houston on August 24th. Yup, the day before school started. She was supposed to go with Kat, but as usual, she cancelled - so I went! We had a great time. It was at one of the old warehouses turned into a musical venue, in a small room. There were only about 50 people total. Kevin again, was very personable. He came over to me and Jocie and introduced himself to us, shook our hands. AND, he remembered meeting Jocie at "The Jesse Show" in Austin. Holy moly, she was floating on air. Later she got a couple of his t-shirts and he autographed one. And, we got another picture of her with him. It turned out great. The first picture is Jocie making sure she gets the spot right in front of the singer! This is about an hour before the show started and only about 15 people in the room!

This one is when we were about to leave and Kevin was by the "merch" he was selling.

I'm having trouble with the main console in the Tahoe. Sometimes the speedometer, wipers, gas gauge and various other things may or may not work! Hopefully, we'll get it fixed this weekend. Just frustrating is all.

And, Jocie started Jr year! She has a FULL load. She has AP English, AP US History (she's excited about both of these), Chemistry, Algebra 2, and Spanish. Her two electives are Choir (of course), and Webmastering which she's thinking about changing to Photo Editing. Either way, she's feeling a bit overwhelmed but is looking into forming study groups with her friends. I'm nervous for her!

Lastly, I finished up with Business Ethics receiving an A - woo hoo. I'll be starting with Corporate Psychology on Thursday. We'll have Dave and Mike but Doug is coming back and Todd is going to join our team this time too. Toni is in this class too and may need a team, we'll have to see.

Ok, we'll I'm off to do week3 again of my C25K so wish me luck!

Ordinary Running

I weighed in last night and am down another pound so woo hoo for me. I think it's only 1 lb because I started getting exercise this week and my metabolism is freaked out. But, that's ok, I'll take it!

I spoke with my friend Courtney to see if she would be interested in doing the 5K with me and she is! She's been wanting to start getting some exercise since Derek was born so she's taking this chance too.

And we've found the run we're going to do. It's called the Monster Mash Road and Trail 5K/10K and kids 1K fun run. And, it's November 1 so NO SLACKING! I'm getting really excited about this and am glad to have the motivation, pushing, and shoving from Courtney to do this!

Have a great day everyone!

Ordinary Adult Learnings

Well, I start my 11th class tonight. I mentioned this in a previous post. It's Ethics in Management and I hope it will be interesting class. I finished my 1400 word paper and have posted it. I hope it's good, it's worth something like 15 points!

I don't know if I mentioned that I asked Valerie about possibly riding with the Lone Star Cowgirls in parades. Well, she invited us over last weekend after the Watermelon Festival and we went for a ride. I rode Mylie and enjoyed myself tremendously. It was nice riding with Valerie and golly, it was relaxing, and quite and really nice.

Here are a couple of pictures. Yeah, I know - I'm working on losing weight!

Ordinary Weight Loss?

I posted previously that I'm on WW now. So, had weigh in last night, down another 2.8lbs! Grand total of 10.8lbs so far. So far so good. Go me!

Thursday, I start class again with my very great, very supportive team, Dave and Mike, minus Doug. It will be an interesting class with several people from previous courses including Toni and Mae. I have a 1400 word paper due Thursday so I have to get on it!

Found out MIL started WW last night. It will be good to discuss things with her. Hopefully, we can keep each other motivated!

Also, I'm thinking of starting a couch to 5K program. I actually want to start week 1 day 1 tonight when I go work out. Wish me luck on this. I'm really excited.

Ok, that's about it!

Ordinary Changes?

I haven't posted since June 30 and we've been kind of busy since then.

July 1, I did join Weight Watchers (yea me) and starting weight is 234.4 (yuck) but enough is enough. I will be weighing in on Monday nights. This will keep me accountable over the weekends.

The first weekend we went to Ft Worth with the Lone Star Cowgirls. We had a great time and got to visit with Deanna, Becca, and Dustin. It was really good seeing them. We did alot of walking in Ft Worth going to the horse show, hanging out in the barn with the cow girls, we also visited the Civil War Museum and also a big flea market.

I watched what I ate even though we were in a hotel for 4 days and ate out every meal and it paid off. At weigh in on July 7, I was down 5.2 lbs! woo hoo!

2nd weigh in was July 14, and I was down another 2.8 lbs for a total of 8 lbs in 2 weeks! I'm so excited.

I've started using the treadmill at work and getting more and more exercise. The 15th and 16th I walked 1/2 hr at lunch. I ran into a couple of women from my department there and I hope at some point I'm able to join them in the class they take.

Yesterday, the cowgirls were in a parade so we went to help them and watch. We ended up riding in the truck that's in front of them and played their music. That was fun. But, it was so hot!

Donnie and John went to back to John and Vals but the rest of us stayed at the Watermelon Festival and looked around. Tried to do well with eating but while I feel I made health choices, didn't get my 8 healthy's in. I'll do better today.

Also, Valerie let me ride on Mylie! She rode Freckles and we walked around their neighborhood. It took 45 minutes but was so much fun. She thinks I'll be able to ride in a parade with them in September. I'm looking forward to that.

Ok, well, I'm going to clean up our flower bed, do laundry, homework, watch the race and hope to get some cross stitching in too!

Have a great ordinary day!
